Growing up in South San Diego, Xica was immersed in music from an early age. She has fond memories listening to her dad’s mixtapes on cassette, carefully curated for long Sunday evening drives, and waking up on weekend mornings to her family’s soundtrack of funk, oldies, disco and new wave records blasting from the kitchen. It inspired her own passion for record collecting, which for Xica, is an extension of her personal story and a way to connect with the deep roots of music culture.
Xica is an established presence in the local Los Angeles scene, but she is no stranger to stages globally — she has played Boiler Room in Los Angeles, Good Room in New York, Multi Multi Festival in London, Sunday Sunday in Mexico City, and many more.
