Soos is a DJ and producer from Mexico City that has been pushing a zany approach to dance music for over 17 years. Both his DJ and studio work explore the phenomenon of cross-genre narratives that blend anything from obscure dubby house to dreamy groundbeat – a creative vehicle for an eclectic music palette where amusement and discovery rule over all other traditional story-telling.
Via his studio work, the D.F. born producer traverses the musical universes of 1990’s and 2000’s nostalgia by re- contextualizing the retro sonic shades of latin club music,balearic influenced soundscapes, and downtempo techno – landing him releases in acclaimed record labels like Japan’s Mule Music and Germany’s Permanent Vacation.
Within a constant DJ agenda in Mexico and the world spawning in clubs, festivals and one-off events, Soos has landed a handful of residencies that reflect his multifarious taste like the country-wide party series Sunday Sunday and Departameto. In addition to these residencies, the “Mundo Cute” artist has showcased his ever-curious assortment of nerd-friendly music via international radio shows like NTS, Rinse.FM, and Refuge Worldwide.
